This past Fall season, CayRay Group, alongside Home Team Marketing, facilitated a comprehensive marketing campaign to generate buzz for the launch of Comcast SportsNet’s new Houston-based network. The campaign was promoted throughout 29 Texas High Schools, providing Comcast SportsNet with access to 111 athletic events and approximated 500,000 attendees.

As part of the campaign, Comcast SportsNet ran a TXT2WIN contest/sweepstakes across all participating high schools. La Joya High School sent in the most texts (9,725) and won a pep rally. Throughout the contest, voters also had the chance to win trivia prizes. At the end of the contest, one lucky voter won a grand prize of four suite tickets to a 2013 game. A microsite was created specifically for this promotion, displaying a leader board as well as additional promotional messaging.

Additional promotional elements included on-site signage, PA announcements, and branded flyers and posters.
The program also provided much need financial support for each participating high school and athletic program.

“We are so very thankful for our sponsorship with Comcast SportsNet. With school budgets being very thin all around the country, the sponsorship money goes a long way in helping us take care of our kids. We are very grateful to Comcast SportsNet for their sponsorship, and look forward to continuing it in the future,” said Jason Herring, Athletic Director at Refugio ISD.
